FOUNDATION AND WHY

GIVING TO THE FOUNDATION under tax advantaged IRS 501(c)(3) rules

In addition to contributions from the Zonta Club of Grants Pass, individuals and groups may share in the Foundation’s goals through personal gifts of all sizes. The Foundation gratefully accepts lawful donations under applicable state and federal law. All donor negotiations or gift arrangements are confidential and any specific instructions will be honored as long as they are within the objectives of the Foundation and meet the criteria of Foundation policies.

As encouragement for selecting Zonta as a recipient of your charitable dollars, recent studies prove that whole communities benefit when the status of women improves.

We encourage you to assist with the endeavors of the Foundation by including it in your annual charitable giving and/or through your estate plan. You may give consideration to directing ZCGPF as a beneficiary in your Will, Trust, IRA, Roth IRA, or Life Insurance as a percentage or specified amount. For example, those who schedule donations as a tithe would specify 10% to ZCGPF. A Foundation Board Member will be happy to assist you with any questions regarding your contribution or bequest. The Zonta Club of Grants Pass also accepts contributions under a different IRS rule. Donations to the Club may not carry tax advantages.

Both the Zonta Club and the Zonta Foundation now have a new easy way of raising funds. Igive.com. When you make purchases on the internet, the listed stores will now donate a percentage of the sale to either the Club or the Foundation - you select which. It’s that easy. Really. Who knew that our favorite pastime (shopping) could earn the Club money!?!

Here’s how it works:

1. Log on to www.igive.com.

2. Sign up and choose your charity (either Zonta International of Grants Pass or Zonta International of Grants Pass Foundation)

3. Go to one of the 600 stores listed

4. Shop ’til you drop!!!

5. Igive.com will send the Club or the Foundation a check for a percentage of the sale.

Each of the stores gives a different percentage of the sale – some as much as 25%. You can change your charity designation anytime you want. You can also download an invisible browser so that you can go directly to a store without having to go to igive.com first. Check out the list of stores – everything from Armani to Zales! Do you usually make your reservations on line? There’s United Airlines, Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Hotwire, Priceline. Even eBay gives a percentage!
